how bad is your mpg commuting to work?

Depends on how late for work i am and how the traffic is.
Over my 50 mile commute if its a clear (school holidays) and can get through the centre of Durham easy then 48mpg or if i'm late and its a bit stop start then about 40-41mpg.

~40mpg... driving into a city centre but an hour before rush hour. Still get stopped by a silly number of traffic lights and encounter people who dont know where they're going / what lane to be in.

Between 55-65 mpg on my 48 mile commute to work. Depends how late I am :D
A1(M) mostly.

Seat Leon 1.9 TDI SE, Ecomotive. (Hangs head in shame)

To be fair the Leon does the job and keeps the costs reasonable. £35 road tax too :)

Getting pretty much the same from the A3 TDI

At last a vehicle that justifies the paltry 10p a mile expense payout.

:D

I'm currently averaging around 65mpg on my 41 mile commute. Mostly country A roads with traffic around the towns. I was doing better when it wasn't cold, wet, dark and heavy traffic.

Its a very different story on the occasion I take the Baja to work. :p

48-53mpg on 80-90 miles depending on the route taken and how heavy the shoes worn are. It should be better but the boost needle needs the exercise :D

Remapped Smart Roadster hard top.

Let me just check exact numbers (it changes regularly)

Sorry its 60.1p for 1450cc and above vehicles - up to a maximum of 800 miles per month, then 14.2p. 20.1p of that is NI able (anything above 40p).

I don't get any other allowance towards owning a car, so it makes up for it a small bit. I rarely do more than 200 business miles a month though.
