How beautiful is this?

You can get a squire one that looks virtually identical for about £150 :p

But it's not the same! :p

A big part of the fascination for me is the fact that it's 50+ years old.

I don't think I'd ever buy a brand new guitar again. I got my Fender Strat new about 10 years ago and it's nice, but it doesn't interest me as much as one from the 60s would for example. I know that sounds odd!

It's just beautiful.

where's the character? you may aswell buy a brand new one.

if i was buying a 50's strat, i'd want it scratched and peeling!

Has it ever been let out in 50 years?
It should be scratched and knocked to bits.

Yeah I do agree. I'd prefer a worn one as well, like John Frusciante's 62 Strat. I absolutely love the look of it.

It's just extremely rare to find one like this though.

I see now, the cost of a guitar makes it good? pretty sure a decent guitarist can make a £50 guitar sound good.

If you're going on looks alone, give me Dimebag or Max Cavalara's guitar any day, this one looks way too plain

No, but one worth £36k and looks as awesome as that would find its way into my hands a whole lot quicker than some random naked girl would - assuming I had the choice between the two of them (for free of course). :p

As for those two, awful! Brazil flag?...

Don't sit around having regrets - pick up and play, develop and enjoy! :)

edit: I'm not fussed by strats - give me a LP, Gretch or even a Tele - it's such a personal thing :)

That's true. It's just a shame I don't have the ten years experience I should have. :p

As for Gretsch...

Yes please.

You guys talking about regretting not playing guitar... stop being whiny manchildren and do it, it's not hard to teach yourself :p

I know that, but I just feel gutted that I had lessons ten years ago and didn't continue with them. I got my guitar out for like the first time in years the other day and felt awful that I couldn't do anything with it. :p

How old do they have to be to be worth something? I have a 1988 Fender Strat that needs a bit of TLC, worth selling?

Very nice! Assuming it's an American Strat, here's one on eBay at the moment.
