How big a job to convert from auto to manual ?

If its in good nick, and its cheap, snap it up!

Gentry's are pretty rare - and the pedal box is much the same IIRC, its not a massive job to switch over to manual. The auto box isn't too bad :)

I converted by Sierra from Auto to a maual for the princely sum of £100.

Bought a 2lt A reg Sierra that was rusty but had a good box and clutch. Droped the auto box, took the flywheel off, removed the pedal box. Put the manual flywheel on, installed the manual clutch, installed the manual gearbox, installed the manual pedal box, installed a new clutch cable, shorted the start inhibitor swicth - job completed in around 4 hours. Sold the A reg car for £100 scrap :-)

Gearbox is still going strong in My Westfield :-)

He does, obviously. He's worried about an autobox making him look like a cissy when either way he'd be driving around in one of the least masculine looking cars I could imagine. Just seems funny to me. Flame away.
