Should i get to play my XBOX 360 on.

I will be sat about 12 foot from it most of the time.

Having neither the knowledge nor experience with these matters how bid a HD tv should i get. And could you recommend one?

I dont want to be spending more than about £700 and built in freeview would be a bonus.

Thanks.

At 12 feet I'd get at least 40". Look around though, there are some great bargains out there.

For your budget though the LG LC2DB has built in freeview and can be had for around £500. Not sure how much the 37" versions go for though.

As large as you can get..

A 46" at 8 feet looks just about OK for the 360, at 12 feet, 50" would be no problem, hell, I use a 108" projector screen at 12 feet, and that's fine!!

I think 32" is too small for a distance of 12 foot. I have a 32" JVC LCD and I sit about 6-7 foot from it. There are times I think I should have gone for the 37". So for 12 foot I think 40" would be ideal.

I use 37" at about 6-9 feet (depending on whether I am playing 360 or Wii and how many players there are). You don't want it too large with LCDs because viewing angles affect contrast even on the very best sets. Naturally this isn't a problem with stonking great projectors :p

But like i said before does anyone know if Overclockers offer credit terms?
I'm not sure but I wouldn't be so narrow in your search. Look on AVForums for TV recommendations

And can you get a decent tele that is 40" for £700?

You can get a Samsung Lcd 40" for under £800 now. The way prices are coming down £700 should get you a 40" in 2-3 months. I paid £900 for my JVC 32" 6 months ago now you can get it for under £700

32" will be too small, look at 42" For widescreen films I would get a bigger screen, 46" or 52"

50" would be good.
40"+ at 12 feet really. Maybe think about a projector instead?
I have a 50" at about 15 feet and it is good, I have a 32" at about 8 feet.

I had a 42" plasma i used to view at about 8 feet.. its was very nice :) especially for films etc.. But i am moving to a 32" soon over the same distance as my new flat dosnt quite suit the TV as much :(

But id say 42" or 37" will be ideal for 12 feet away. Bigger just gets silly and smaller you might start squinting a little.
