How big is your Steam folder?

Yea, basically you can buy and download games through it, it automatically updates and patches them too which is quite handy. Can be used for other things too but I hardly ever bother lol

can i ask what steam is about?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam
Steam is vaporized water. It is a transparent gas (for mist see below). At standard temperature and pressure, pure steam (unmixed with air, but in equilibrium with liquid water) occupies about 1,600 times the volume of an equal mass of liquid water. In the atmosphere, the partial pressure of water is much lower than 1 atm, therefore gaseous water can exist at temperatures much lower than 100 °C (212 °F) (see water vapor and humidity).

In common speech, steam most often refers to the white mist that condenses above boiling water as the hot vapor mixes with the cooler air. This mist consists of tiny droplets of liquid water. Pure steam emerges at the base of the spout of a steaming kettle where there is no visible vapor.

Not everyone have their Steam folder on normal drive. For example my system and Steam drive is a 128GB SSD, really can't afford a 256GB one :D.

Fair enough - though I expect it's the vast minority who have their Steam install on an SSD :)

Was over 50 gigs must be nearly 60 now. Ordered a 160Gb SSD and unsure whether or not to take up that much SSD space with Steam.

Everything on Steam seems to load fast anyway from my Raptor, not sure if there would be much improvement.

Anyone moved Steam to an SSD?

once i get my rig up and running again i've got 4 new games to add to steam.

it stands at ~130Gb atm, with approximately another 40Gb going on :D

I'm hoping L4D2 isn't too big, I need to clear some space as the Cinematic pack for HL2 is taking up way too much space atm.

Better get on and finish it :D
