How big's the box for a Macbook?

I might be replacing my Mac Mini with a shiny new Macbook today, only trouble being that I ride a motorbike, so getting back from Bluewater with my new toy will be a bit of a problem if it won't fit in my bag!

Does anyone have their box for a Macbook (not pro) and would be kind enough to measure it for me? It'd be a great help, I'll really feel like a gimp phoning the Apple Store and asking them if they've got a tape measure!

Thanks in advance (hopefully)

Ring and say, how big's the Macbook.... box. They'll do it for you if they know you're going to then go and buy one :)

According to an online book retailer who sells other things:

18 x 5.6 x 17.5 inches

Sound about right?

I found that, I think it's for the older one, but on thinking about it I reckon I'll get it in somehow, even if I have to buy a laptop rucksack and fold up the box :D

Cheers for trying dude :)

Hehe, moh is sorted now, we rang apple.

to get the dimensions, and also a laugh ;)

i just said "how big is the macbook packaging?"

there reply- "er...er.....id say....er...er...about...er....15Inches square"

Me.."Thanks, thats it, bye"

Them - "Hahaha"

Me -*hangs up*

It's ok, I got it now :D

I bought a slipcase for it, and put all the manuals and doodads in my bag with it and left the box at the shop.

I think they thought it was quite funny :/

When I was in a store getting my MacBook's keyboard replaced (palmrest discolouration) someone had just bought a shiny new one, got them to set up .Mac for him, shoved it into a slipcase and then put that and all the manuals and stuff into a bag and left the box with them.

So you're not alone :p

Won't that cause a problem if you have to return it under warranty, for any reason?

Then I'll put it in another box...

Yeah, why did you leave the box? It's quite important!

No it's not. It might knock a few quid off what I can get for it if/when I come to sell it, but all the warranty information on the side of the box is also elsewhere on the machine. Not having the box won't affect my warranty in the slightest.

Plus I didn't have any choice, I couldn't get it home 25 miles on the bike in the box :)
