I've got a 160gb hdd in my lappy which I've split in two, one half vista and once half xp.

Now since I installed XP it ALWAYS boots from the XP partition.

How can I chose to boot from the Vista one at times?

I know how to do it on two separate physical drives but not on two partitions of the same drive. Is this even possible?

Cheers,

G

yes it is possible....... dual boot systems are very common :)

does it not give you a screen that says press TAB or similar for boot sequence (something along those lines)

normaly when you press that it allows you to set up the boot configuration :)

i know mine does :)

not BIOS though!

Not sure if this would work but try pressing F8 as your booting up (as if entering safe mode) might give you the option to change there.

I think it could also be that you need to hold Control from the post screen until the menu comes up. I'm sure that's worked for me in the past.

none of the above working so far :(

F8 brings up the menu to chose the boot options, like the OS. BUT Vista is not listed :(

I'm stuck :(

Any more ideas?

did you put xp on after vista? as far as i know you have to instsall xp first then vista. otherwise xp breaks the bootloader for vista.
