Haven't tried it myself yet (and have been meaning to for a while...), but apparently you can download it with realplayer then convert it with media convert.
I have just copied that straight from a youtube page where somebody was asking the same question though, so don't shoot the messenger
If it's just the audio you are after, Audacity allows you to record whatever is playing on your soundcard/PC - it's a very good free audio editor to boot.
Free Youtube to MP3 Converter will grab the FLV from the Tube and then convert it to your specified bitrate of MP3. Pretty seamless and easy to use. Just remember to NOT tick any of the Ask.com boxes on install (unless you want your browser home page changing and a new toolbar).
Just get vdownloader, change the default format to mp3 or wma and inser the url of the video you wnat the audio from and press download and it does the rest for you!
