How can I find out if my router is dieing?

Basically I have one of those Linksys ADSL Routers with the 4port switch.

When the ADSL signal is interupted for whatever reason the whole thing will power off and power back on in a split second, it doesn't lose any settings, just keeps tripping out everytime the ADSL signal starts to reconnect. It's been happening more frequently over the past 2-3 months.

Is there anyway I can test its health or do I just need to bit the bullet and pay for a new one and test that way. I can't get my hands on a spare or borrow one so that's out.

Is it a WAG54G?

If so, I can safely it's failed, and buy a new one. There are numerous known issues with these routers dieing, as well as progressively getting worse.

Ye it is that one, its not the G because it isn't wireless. Same model in theory though eh?

Yes, I'd imagine so.

Give a factory reset first, just to be sure. Be sure to make a note of your ISP's details first, power cycle it and hold the red reset button until the power light flashes.
