ok guys, firstly, let me apologise for the total randomness of my threads over the last few days.

secondly, and most importantly, does anybody know how i might go about getting a celebrities autograph short of hunting them down?
the celebrity in mind is Mcfly. it is a good friend of mines birthday coming up and i have bought her some tickets to the gig, but i think it would top it off if i could get their autograph for her.....

please help!

*sigh* fine, apart from a proper autograph shop (they're randomly around) I suppose you could write a scribble on a piece of paper? I mean who would really know as long as it roughly looks the same as what comes up on google image search.

Just send them a letter asking and I'm sure they will give you one. There's a big thread on DigitalSpy where people do this to half decent celebs and get replies. It should be easy with McFly especially as McFly seem to be big on trying to gain a wider fanbase by releasing there album for free (I know this because of the radio, not because I'm a fan :p )

I've never understood the autograph thing, the way fans cream themselves over certain people is generally embarassing, girls passing out at Beatles concerts, to stupid kids ruining the chance to play football with Messi because they had to swarm around him to scream loudly so even if Messi said anything they wouldn't be able to hear it.

But autographs, your life is more complete because someone famous scribbled on something important or completely random? I guess it started off as people being able to I guess proove they'd met someone, like I met Bobby Davro, look how much better I am than you.

I know thats not the point of the thread but, what the heck is up with people?

Surely the fact that you're willing to demean yourself so much as to go to a McFly concert, or even just buy tickets for your "friend" should be sign enough that you want to do nasty things to her?

I honestly can't think of a worse present than giving someone an autograph, even if you were giving it to a person who actually thinks they are worthwhile. An autographed special edition of their album done by the band in person and handed directly to the girl, if you can sort that out sure, but also be prepaired to lose her to one of the random **** from the band as she becomes a groupie.

I've never understood the autograph thing

I was kind of like that but I recently got my Snow Patrol box set signed which I think is cool and has led me to get my Biffy Clyro and Embrace ones done too (hopefully soon). I want to frame them up in some way. I don't understand why you would want just a signature on a piece of paper though, that's a bit useless. And I think the signed stuff should be personalised as well.

If she likes this then you need to rethink if you really want to get into her funzone....

Contact their PR. There'll always be PR folk at the concerts to handle press attendence etc.

Send a well written email explaining that it's your friend's birthday on it would make their year if they could sort out a signed photo for you. They're normally happy enough to do things like that and arrange to meet you somewhere to hand it over.

is it just me or does the one in the red shirt have his arm on backwards and a bizarre shrunken head ?

I don't like any 'musicians' that have a team of people to dress them. Fake band, fake music...so fake the autograph!
