How can I get COD2 to run in a window?

Half Life 2 has this option in the game settings but COD2 unfortunetly hasn't. is there anyway I can get it to run in a window, any ini files I can adjust or can that not be used for this sort of thing?. Thanks.
 
I don't know how command lines work but I assume it's adding r_fullscreen [1] to the end of the target. I did that and it appeared in a window but the window was as big as the screen and I couldn't resize it, also the computer responded very slowly so I had to shut it down.
 
fullscreen [0] it is to put it into windowed mode mate.

Adum, if you check that link i posted youll see this in it :

r_fullscreen [0,1] - If set to 0, changes from fullscreen to windowed mode. This can help performance if the window is smaller than your current desktop resolution. Game must be restarted for windowed mode to come into effect.

If you STILL don't believe me ill take a screen as soon as this backup is done.
 
Oops read it wrong, k worked fine with what you said, now how do I get it back :p I deleted the command line, fired it up it's still in windowed mode, I put in fullscreen [0], it's still in window mode?

carp said the wrong thing again, I put in fullscreen [1] and it's still windowed

EDIT: got it maximised by selecting it in the properties, still get the bar at the top of the screen though

S'ok mate, was watching match of the day. Thanks for the detailed reply, will try and get it working now :)

edit: that first link isn't working, it seems to have put some ...'s in instead of some of the address.
