How can I get on my feet?

I really feel for you. It might sound contrived to say, but I think trying to find a direction in life is the hardest thing you can come across. It took me a long time, and I'm still not 100% there.

Some sound advice above. Can you mature your current job into a full time role?

As said in a lot of the replies above you need to have a think about what you actually want to or think you could do with your life. The forces or even merchant Navy are both excellent options if you're not quite sure - you'll grow up fast and will have the chance to set yourself up for life (in more than just a financial sense).

I thought about it when I was a bit younger than you and didn't do it - I don't regret it as such but I now work with a lot of senior armed forces personnel who are all very good at what they do. I've forged out my own career but then I always had an idea of what I fancied doing (even if it's changed track a bit now)

Get yourself out of the house and live with people of a similar age, even if it's just renting someones' room, learn to drive - at worst that'll give you something to aim for

Been thinking about this a lot recently,I'm 25 next year and I can't seem to get on my feet, to start my life...im out of ideas.

I have a job, albeit not full time only 24 hours p/w -usually do 30-35 p/w (if im lucky to get overtime),I'm great full to even have a job ,but thought id point it out.

Im still living with the parents,Which they are great but of course i don't want to be hanging around forever..i want change!

I just cant think of how to get on my feet,I dont drive..stuck in a dead end job with no luck of getting any extra permanent hours...everyday is like groundhog day.

Backflip.

As the old man has always said to me:

This world will hand you nothing, if you want it you have to do it for yourself.

Basically mtfu, do something about it.

wow i feel for you having not really known what i want job wise from life for so long, ive passed me class 2 hgv last year and had a job there and now resigned due to long hours and not seeing my kids. I ran my own business for 6 years or so but only because it was something i had a real interest in.
I find it hard to find the right job as something just stops me from doing it or when i get a job stops me from going after so long, and i cant explain why or what the cause is.
I have a beautiful wife and 2 kids now and i thought that would never happen and one day she walked into my life and she is my rock and soul mate.
What im trying to say is a lot of people go through hard times and lifes not always easy but you will get there, things will alter for the better im 37 soon and various things happened to me but somehow im doing ok and so will you i promise!
Take things 1 step at a time and try to enjoy and not worry and finds something that makes sense to you and what you enjoy and you never know who you may meet or what may crop up for you, we have to experience the lows to appreciate the highs.

You aren't alone mate, most people have no real clue what they want to do with their lives. Some stumble into something they enjoy, others become trapped in a job they don't like through other life commitments (wife / kids).

I personally have been asking myself for years what I want to do, still don't have an answer though. Just work to pay the bills and keep an eye out for new opportunities.

My advice to you is try out some other jobs while you have no real responsibilities, if you can combine that with moving out / somewhere new, then all the better.
