How can I get rid of this?

Please don't throw all that mumbo jumbo at me! ;)

I am sure there is a sensor cleaning option in the menu but I can't see it anywhere!

This Thread Might Help

Just did a little googling for you.

Wouldn't removing the batteries act like clearing the bios on a PC, or is it something physical in the camera causing the problem? Sorry, I'm not the clued on up newer cameras. My E-10 is oooolllldddd

All D-SLR suffer with dust collecting on the sensor - this happens when you change lenses etc.
It's not a problem, every month or so simply clean the sensor. You do need to take care but so long as you are careful and follow the guidelines nothing will go wrong.

This link covers all you need to know - http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning :)

All sorted - Just found the online manual. I didn't realise that the sensor cleaning just meant that it would move the mirrors and open the shutter. Thanks for the help.

Just a pain about the photos with the dot!

Anyway, a couple from the weekend.

Be careful & good luck. Personally, I use a hand blower and that's worked 100% for me so far.

I did think that the 30D would go some way to fixing the problem as it really can ruin your photos if the area is difficult to clone. My plan is to have 2 bodies with telephoto & wide on so that I A. dont have to change lenses and I don't get so higher chance of this problem!
