Hi everyone.

About a few months ago i made my first gaming machine. What im looking for really is a little bit of advice on how I can further upgrade the system to give me better performance within games and general uses, But mainly in games. Money really isn't an issue but i would like to keep my machine up to date without buying a GTX 580.I generally play the newest games out on 1900 resolution.

System:

Asus Asus P6X58D-E
Intel i7 @ 4ghz - h50 cooler
Evga GTX 480
Corsair DDR3 1600mhz 6gb
Western Digital 500gb 32mb cache t2 HDD

Kind regards

Yes 1920x1080 on a samsung syncmaster. I've noticed drops in frames on battlefield bad company 2 when its all kicking off, which is too be expected. Is they anyway to completely eliminate that?

Also is they a cheaper alternative to a SSD, i know my HDD is holding me back somewhat.

Any improvement to that already good rig is going to be expensive if it's worthwhile. It's known as the law of diminishing returns. Only things I can think of are an SSD or another 480 if your board does SLI.

Also your current 850w psu would struggle with sli 480's, an ssd and overclock your gpu would be a few suggestions.

Water cooling could be a good idea if you want better temps and less noise. I'm sure there will be many people knowledgeable enough to spec you a nice setup. A good case is required aswell though.

I would love water cooling i just have never taken the time to fully understand it. I love my current cpu cooler its great with temps but some cooling for the cards would be awesome.

My case is a nzxt phantom, is that capable of watercooling?

Surely a faster hard drive is not going to make much difference unless the game pulls data from the drive whilst playing, which it really shouldn't be doing, should it?
