I play a lot of .avi and .mkv files using my PS3 onto a 52" SONY TV. The only problem I have is the image size (pixels) isn't always big enough to be shown on a 52" TV without the image being well.... crap!
How can I reduce the image size either when outputting from PS3 or inputting to SONY TV?
Here's the strange thing... it only happens when I play these files using the PS3, they seem to never fit the screen (which is what I want) when I play them from a CD or DVD using my old SONY DVD player ( DivX playable). Both machines are connected to the TV using HDMI leads. It doesn't seem to be the TV settings from what Ive stated above. Ive got loads of files on the PS3 just ready to watch but more than half of them are too small for the 52" TV.

You can press Triangle to bring up all the video options. One of them will switch the video between 'widescreen', 'full screen' or 'native'.
