How can I reduce the amount of dust in my room?

Put a magnet in each corner of the room, about an inch square is ideal.
It works wonders in reducing dust to almost zero.

As Entropy said - spraying antiperspirant in your room can contribute to the dust.
I shower every day and had an average sized room, even got an air purifier/filter and it still was really dusty (laminate flooring) - never solved the problem.
I'm sure it shouldn't have been as dusty as it was... moved to a place with carpet and although I know it's there at least I cant see it

My room gets hoovered very regularly, and is quite tidy . I also dust whenever I see dust.
This contradicts your opening post. If you did this there would be less dust. Quod erat demonstrandum as the saying goes.
