I am overclocking my cpu E6600 to 3ghz with stock volts. Im not too happy about the temps Intels TAT says its hitting 65c during Orthos, so what I want to know is thermal throttling happening? i have been playing a few games lately and they have started to almost grind to a halt then go again. This might be due to Kaspersky or something so i need to test more. But can anyone reccomend me how to check this?

I know about throttle watch but im not sure how to use it.

ThrottleWatch

ThrottleWatch™ is a Windows utility for detecting and reporting CPU throttling activity in Pentium 4, Xeon, Pentium M, and Athlon 64 processors. New version 2.01 also graphs (and optionally logs) fluctuations in the CPU's core frequency and core voltage made by Intel SpeedStep™ Technology, Intel Enhanced SpeedStep™ Technology, and AMD Cool‘n’Quiet™ Technology. Throttlewatch™ and InSPECS™ share the same hardware detection engine.

Should work on Core 2 though

Mine at 3.4 1.5v load is 72C max and it doesnt throttle down :p

i dunno if the voltage sensor works with that though. im running an opty 165 at 2.8 GHz and apparently its only at 1.35 even though according to MBM 5 its more like 1.5. on a DFI ultra D
