How can I use a 2.5" hard drive in my desktop PC?

My Samsung NC10 netbook recently died, but I have successfully managed to retrieve the 2.5" 160GB Toshiba hard drive from within. If I wanted to mount this inside my desktop machine, what kit would I need to do so?

1) Will I need a special 2.5" to 3.5" case bracket?
2) Will the 2.5" hard drive take a standard SATA data connector?
3) How will I power it?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

If the drive is SATA, standard SATA connectors work. As for securing it, you can get a drive bracket that holds it in place. My case has 2.5 mounting screws on the bottom of the drive bays which is a pretty awesome feature :D

You could stick it down, bungee mod a 5.25" bay, or buy a proper mounting kit.

SATA laptop and desktop drives use the same connector. Its only IDE that doesn't.

Sounds good! Does anyone know if the Samsung NC10 hard drive is SATA or not? I just took it out and placed it on a shelf... didn't really look! Only this morning thought about putting it into the desktop machine.

just have a look? if it's IDE it'll have about 40 little exposed pins on the back in two rows of 20, one on top of the other. if it's SATA it'll have two little blocks of connectors embedded in black plastic, one about twice as long as the other.
