I have put these settings into the router but i can still connect to the internet

Router is WRT54GL.

perfect router for this

flash it with Tomato firmware

http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato
http://www.polarcloud.com/f/Tomato_1_22.7z

open that in winrar/7zip and extract the WRT54GL.bin file to desktop and upgrade the WRT54GL to that using it's update firmware screen

then do a 'clear nv ram'

Administration->Configuration->Restore Default Configuration->Erase all data in NVRAM memory(thorough)->OK

then setup your wireless again etc, then either read here..

or ask on here :)

in the screenshot have you edited the list of PCs?? else you'll be applying the ACL to nothing.

I've put the port range from192.168.0-150 something.

I dont know how to find the MAC address of XBOX + PC.

And i have used Tomato firmware before mate. It was fantastic but my wireless kept dropping all the time. I couldn't get it working so flashed back to defult and its fine again, haven't had a drop since.

I'm not sure if that is a list of inclusions or exclusions. I'd check the manual on this.

But i would suggest installing Tomato anyways as it's a much better firmware. But the standard one should work if set up right.

The list was empty and it didnt block my own PC. I put the IP of my own PC in and saved it, but it can still access the net :(

Have you tried just putting the range of ip's in the bottom section.

I'm not too sure you need the middle section filled in if you are inputting a range.

I rememember I had a nightmare blocking access using my old linkysys router.

Have you tried the dd-wrt firmare that sounds simple to setup.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Access_Restrictions

I put a range in mate, is that correct? (See screeny above)

Have you actually read the manual on the CD that came with the router? This is something that will be covered in there i'm pretty sure.

You can put custom firmware on to get more functions but you should be able to do this out of the box. It's just a question of setting it up correctly.

You've created a policy. the fact it didn't work with no addresses and the whole range specified makes me thing it's not applying the policy.
Is there an option in any of the interface setup pages to apply policy X to this interface. Usually ACLs are applied to an interface in either an inbound or outbound direction.

install Tomato, it's 10x better mate

i've setup over 10 of these, and none of them have had a single issue

Also just thought have you tried powering the router down and then on again.

I know I had a nightmare setting mine up to block a certain housemates torrent activitys that I gave up and bought a dlink.

If tomatoe doesn't work well that ddwrt is meant to be good.

install it then clear the nv ram, it's flawless

Tried it mate, wireless wouldnt stay connected for more than an hour.

Ill give it another go i suppose ! :p

2 secs while i flash.

EDIT - Got it all set up and i managed to get my access restrictions to work :D. Its all set up.

I remember last time there was a graph where it says "real time" bandwidth. Its just blank white atm?

have you done a full ram clear?

Administration->Configuration->Restore Default Configuration->Erase all data in NVRAM memory(thorough)

if you're having wireless problems, then it could be there's loads of other routers in the area using the same channel (there's a tool in Tomato to view other routers, so just choose a channel that they're not using)

Yea done all that. It was a few months ago i last tested it. Haven't had a chance to test wifi this time.

Any idea why i dont get a graph for the bandwidth monitor?
