How can you check penalty points online?

Hi.. I've got a feeling I've been caught speeding on specs... it's been over a week now.

Is it possible to check if you've gotten penalty points online?

If so, how long does it take for the points to be updated to the website?

I've logged into the DirectGov website using my Government Gateway ID, but I'm not sure if I'm in the right place... Can someone point me in the right direction?

Yeps. You'd have to admit to it and send your licence off to the DVLA.

Incidentally, if you do get points and can't remember the dates you can just ring up the DVLA and they'll tell you.
I was most pleased to discover that even though I had 6 points detailed on my old paper licence when I sent it off for a newfangled card one + paper counterpart, the new counterpart came back with only the first 3 on.

I thought it was a bit weird, and a while later I phoned the DVLA and they told me they'd only ever had a record of the first 3. Win!

I'm confused, why would you not remember the dates when the dates are on the counterpart anyway?

Mine says Date of conviction and date of offence

Its not really that close though as in reality you will have indicated 50?

I guessing (and maybe answering my own questions) it uses you web location then picks a camera near that, it just happens to be next to my house.

Looks like it as it picks the wrong area for me. No doubt if I was still with my old ISP it would pick the one camera in my town that I pass a few times each week
