How can you make money from playing guitar?

So if, hypothetically, your a guitar teacher and you teach me to play like slash... what do you thinko the key elements of his style are?

Remember, shredding isn't everything. This guy can play as fast as more or less anyone and the majority of his playing here is no quicker than quavers. It's about musicality, note choice phrasing.

Perhaps before you **** off "famous guitarists" you should consider the musical effect of their playing... the tone, note choices, harmonic value.. not just outright speed.

Im not talking about quality Im taking about fame. ABout rock stars...Most famous guitarists. Guitar inspires...I can say for sure the dude who played guitar for supertramp did not inspire me to pick up guitar. BUt the logical songg did.

I think Slash is cool adn a good player but I think if he diodnt lok so cool cuase hte guy does look cool as, he woudlnt be so famous. I think liek JOhn Frusicante is better but hes less famous to non guitar people.

And you can see here I am quite clearly better than slash. My comedic guitar style can be riveled by none. Its a new genre. A revolution...''comedic guitar''. And I am the revolutionary

It was an old thread and started because a lot of people were making claims in other threads of how great they were and never delivered.

I removed from my post anyway as everyone in the comments are saying Eminem isn't being streamed as all of the other acts have been. No idea why but it's kind of annoying.

There are still guitar heroes out there, you just know where to find them. I'm an absolute Paul Gilbert disciple, the way he thinks, composes and plays just really speaks to me. I think what really makes a die hard fan is because he is very heart on sleeve and never takes himself seriously, a very positive, friendly and funny guy. That also happens to be able to play guitar stuck on 'god mode'. Ignore the silly video and listen:


Blows me away. Contender for the best riff of the last 10 years IMO.

And slash isn't all that, are you having a laugh? :p

gilbert video is ****ing excellent. not heard before. that riff is relentless! i love how it picks right up after it's partially sacrificed for the pinched harmonic. and what a shredder! jesus, amazing.

Compoyos comments annoyed me a lot. Very ignorant knowlege of guitar players. Hust because they aren’t mainstream doesn’t mean there are aren’t any guitar hero's about.
 
What's that smell? I thought this thread would have totally decomposed after being buried for so long. Someone fetch some caustic soda, a shovel, and a bag of cement. This sucker's staying buried this time!
