How can you tell if a HDD is faulty? cant transfer folders!

got a new 14tb hhd and when i click the folder to transfer to the new hdd which is about 400gb it just does nothing at all, then when i try a smaller folder it says this is no longer located in the location, when it clearly is! and i click try again and nothing happens. ive formatted the drive a few times but still same thing and im not sure what is going on.

Maybe the anti virus is kicking in? While its scanning the files it could block the os from copy/move/show them.

i went into the folder thats got 90 folders in it and was able to drag one out at a time, but i drag too many nothing happens no warnings nothing on screen at all like i never did anything.

but for a 27gb folder to transfer from a 6tb my book to a 14tb my book its going to take 6 hours which isnt right

after hours it stopped and said no longer located in the location when it is

Does the folder name have a space after its name?
