i dont live near one but go fishing at a power station every other weekend and I dont have radiation posioning. I dont think what has happened in Japan should stop more being built, when the oil is gone we will need energy and more nuclear is the only viable option. Japan built theres in dangerous places which should never have been allowed

6 miles.

Eating a banana a year will give you a higher dose of radiation than living next to a nuclear powerstation.

Better stop eating bananas!

good stats in the telegraph . they also sort of apologised for how journalists acted like greenpeace throughout the whole japan thing.

Nuclear fatalities in the last ten years: 7

Wind farm fatalities in the last ten years: 44.

In those ten years nuclear provided thirty times the energy of wind.

im sat smack int eh middle of a 10mile ring encompassing ferrybridge, eggborough and drax (biggest station in UK) power stations burning over 2000!! tonnes of coal per HOUR

id say a nuke plant would be much healthier for me than that wouldnt you? :)

(but then those 3 combined are about 8000mw, thats a lorra nuke plants)
