How cold is it up Snowdon?

We had a bunch of people from work go up there in the middle of May and this is one of their photographs:

Expect the worst no matter when you go.

Are you still allowed to cycle on snowdon? i used to go up and down that thing every few months about ten years ago.

I dont remember seeing anything saying you couldnt the last time I was there, not that its something I would fancy I think my legs would fall off

Unless the forecast is unusually poor for August you'd be fine with shorts, t-shirt, and a windproof (perhaps a hat too if you intend to stop for more than 5 minutes).

It'll be rammed with people whichever route you take, perhaps try another hill in Snownonia, there are a few about.

Lol we biked upthere a few years ago
was almost hot on the way up till we got to within 500 yards of the summit then went foggy almost blizzard conditions at the top ;)
3 hours to get up 25 minutes down :D

I buy my clothes on the same day I climb up snowdown also...

For those who like to plan ahead, I guess it's fortunate that the weather forecast tends to give an idea of the expected weather for a few days ahead ;)

Remeber that the weather on most hills can change very quickly - so even if you were to buy clothes on the same day, it wouldn't be of much benefit to you.

Use the weather forecast as a guide - in general, expect the weather to cool off and the wind to pick up as you climb higher.

Some days you'll get lucky and have a fabulous day all the way to the top. Other days you can start out in perfect sun, and end up walking through hail and strong winds nearer the top.
