There are only two clusters of my surname in the UK. One round where I live and another up in Yorkshire. No idea who they are.
Most of that list is duplicates, different spellings and other people entirely. None of my family have been in the military either. I'd say there are no more than a dozen people using my surname in the UK. And that's probably being generous.
