With the 970 being less power hungry than the 290 how much more cooler/quieter does any 970 custom cooled (or ref) run compared to say my Vapor X 290 and how much extra performance will they give?
My card in a system with little cooling (3 case fans+1 cpu fan) running below 1000rpm after 5mins of Unigine Valley levels off at 74c top temp and 41% fan (1858rpm) with a overclock at stock volts (+25 in Afterburner) of 1100/1400
With the 970 and it's lower power consumption and less heat to remove how much lower temps and fan speed and higher performance would it have compared to it using the same test even if tested in a system with better case cooling?
I use Unigine Valley as it produces the highest temps/fan speeds. Even more so than Heaven 4, Crysis 3 or any other game.
Maybe 970 users (custom or ref cooler) would give their temps/gpu fan speeds/case fan speeds and what they score in that test (including average/min fps.) when overclocked to the point where they would use it 24/7 and giving a good balance of performance/temp/noise.
Thanks.
