As some may know I'm currently giving the .mac trial a go and so far I'm not impressed. Anyways, I thought I'd use this chance to give iLife 08 a proper going over, seeing as it's meant to integrate well with .mac. IT'S BLOODY ACE !

I've created my first ever blog (admittedly probably not that good, but have a look-see anyways) in all of 10 mins. Loving it so far!

Blog is at www.ojhaslam.co.uk

:D

Was that a custom domain set up by yourself or can you have custom addresses like that through iLife now?

Josh

I knew I'd regret it !

I'll take it down if you want, invert on PS is always fun revealing people that want to be hidden with invert!

Shame Photobooth invert goes sepia when inverted back, but i guess that's because its black and white inverted.

Nah it's fine. I'll just hunt you down and feed you to some pigs if it finds its way into one of those photoshop threads ! :p

The domain is one I've had for a while for my email address. Just set it to forward to my .mac site.

Why not change the DNS?
I did that for my .mac site - until I kinda found iWeb abit too limiting for my blogging needs. It's great mind you but I find blogger / blogspot more flexible than iWebs constant need to edit the template when I put a new page / post.

The photo gallery with 1 click is amazing tho : )

O right, i really need to set up a domain.

The new thing in '08 was being able to set a custom domain i think...Maybe that's what i got confuzzled with.

Cheers,

Josh

Cos you can't change nameservers etc when you're on the trial. Got to pay for that. If I end up subscribing that's what I'll do.

iLife does rock. Its a great set of apps. Im sticking to '07 as iMovie in '08 is supposed to be pants. I use iPhoto the most, great way of organising photos and is one of the main reasons I moved to a Mac.

iLife is ok, the apps are pretty basic tho.
I had a quick look at iWeb and it seemed too basic for me, altho I mainly use dreamweaver etc. I used iPhoto for a while before I got photoshop.

I had a mess around with grageband aswell and it's pretty fun :)
I don't think I actively use any of it now tho.

It's a good set of apps to get you started on a mac tho, brilliant that you get it free with a new mac :)
