this was on an Ipod Touch 4g

I know you can hold in the square button and it lets you use some voice commands but I did something a few weeks ago and it prompted me to speak, then it searched the web or youtube for what I said and showed me the results

no idea how I did it, or maybe it was just a dream!!

Siri or Voice command? Either can be found by holding the home button for a few seconds.

On a 4th gen it'll just be Voice Command. Google's search app will blow your mind if you were impressed with Voice Command

it wasn't the normal voice command screen that came up, I've never installed google search app that I know of, how do you activate it ?

Google search you'll have to download and run it like any other app. Nothing integrated into the OS or anything like that. Can't think of anything else that could be that you've seen...

it was the same male voice you hear when you using voice commands, think i said giant whale? or something, then it said 'searching web for giant whale', might have said searching youtube
