And more importantly...why do i have to buy their stupid microsoft points to get the add ons?

BAH!

Does anyone here have the add ons? Are they worth the money? Is there any way of getting them that doesnt involve getg ripped off through microsoft points?

Unfortunatly at the moment the only way to (legally) get the DLCs is via Games For Windows Live. They are certainly worth having, but having to buy MS points and use GFWL to get them is a BIG negative.

They are going to be released on disc to buy at retail soon, can't remember the exact dates but it's all on the Fallout 3 website. In the mean time you can get them from other sources if you're that way inclined, not that I could possibly condone such behaviour. ;)

I think ill just get em from other sources - if i can get em through steam or not have to buy ****y microsoft points that come in different denominations than the games then then ill buy em thenb

They are pretty pointless really, they don't offer a great deal for the price. I'd just wait for the complete edition thing too, it will be cheaper than buying them all separately.

As soon as I realised theyd be charging for the addons I said **** it, not a chance the greedy sods, Its the last game from Bethesda I'll be buying no mater how good it looks, and GFWLalmost put me off from buying it in the first place. My PC is not a console, and definatley not one from Microsoft.

well i have broken steel and i'd say its worth the £8.50 i paid for it, and its more of an expansion than an addon.

but i have to agree that it seems a lot of hassle to get im just glad ive it for the 360 instead

They charged for for expansions to Morrowind and Oblivion and you're surprised that they've charged for Fallout?

Oh yeah, because the people that work hard at producing the new content want to work for free I guess?

As far as I was aware the ~Anchorage one was not an expansion, just a lame addon. thats enough for me to smell the rot.

Have you actually played it? It's a pretty big environment to explore. If you rush your way through it then of course it's not going to last long.

There's a lot of nice new gear to grab as well.

you can get Fallout 3: The Pitt & Operation Anchorage (Expansion Pack) as of 12/06/2009 from a well known seller in jersey. nothing on broken steel :(

I guess its down to the ***** "Exclusivity" agreement they signed with MS regarding DLC. I guess that also included PC as MS male profit on the points you buy.

It is a niche title really so I dont know why MS wanted exclusivity in the first place.

I am sure Bethesda have learnt their mistake and hopefully wont do the same with their next game. Look at all the money theyve lost from not having DLC for PS3 owners, it is also a smack in the face to them too.

Firstly: Surely the money that MS paid them for the exclusiveness was more than enough to make it worth it?

Secondly: It is coming out on the PS3 afaik. Just a delayed release.

Got the three PC DLCs for Fallout 3 available so far, and none of them are worth the money. Maybe £10 to £15 for all three, but not £8.50 each and the hassle of buying M$ 'Points' each time.

It cracks me up that once downloaded the add-on files can be copied from machine to machine and run under different copies of the game with no problem... So much for DRM.

I dont know the exact figures but taking into account that MS publish the DLC and taking a cut from it = Money lost.

Also, releasing the DLC after many have played the game to death and moved onto something else again equals lost sales.

Games For Windows Live should DIE VERY quickly.

Signed up for the live thing last night and all it would offer me were xbox expansions. I couldn't for the life of me find how to get the windows ones. **** it I'll get the dvd when it comes out.
