So in the last 2 weeks Ive re-watched Terminator 1 and 2. Seen them many times. Each film is brilliantly put together, phenomenal story, the right level of violence, a touch of gore and such awesome 80s-90s action scenes.

Then tonight I watch Terminator 3 on TV for the first time since its release.

Its terrible. It has ridiculous "comedy" scenes and the female terminator, although fit. Is crap!

Its like they lost every single good thing about the first two films. Im watching it with my nephew who is 12 and hes chuckling at scenes. I think 12yr olds became their target audience. Which considering the film has links to the previous two 18 rated films, is a stupid mistake.

Sorry for my little rant but I forgot how crap this film is.

It's not great, but then again Terminator 1 has always bothered me.

"Soooooo.... who are you again?!"
"HERP DERP I'M SOLDIER DERP-COPTER FROM THE FUTURE - WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE ME"
"Ah, I see"

T2 is probably my favourite ever movie behind goodfellas, so it makes me angry just thinking about what they did to T3. I just try to forget about it and treat it as a completely separate film :p.

On the certificate point there's very few films these days that aren't higher than a 12, thankfully in most cases the quality isn't effected by that though (thinking Nolan's Batman films)

As for Rise of the Machines yeah it's absolute turd, it's basically just T2 again but obviously no where near as good. I do like Salvation though

Thats the same for me.

Terminator 2 is so brilliant. Its over 20 years old and I watched just 2 nights ago and it was as great as ever.

The John Connor and Catherine Brewster actor/actress are also completely soulless and have no charm either. Even Arnie seems wooden... and hes a cybernetic organism!

I've never actually seen this due to thee respect I have for originals. I've not looked into it either as this is what I assumed it would have been and it looks like what you said is exactly what I was dreading. It's been on telly many times but I can't bring myself to watch it because it'll be like rape to me after watching the amazing original and 2. :(

I loved both the first two films, went to see T2 twice at the cinema. The third is dire and they lost the plot making that one.

I enjoyed Salvation, but had to laugh when that 25ft harvester robot, and the flying HK appeared at the Petrol station without making any sound :D

The fire engine street destruction scene is fantastic, the rest of the file is a joke though :(

"I'll drive" is the right type of one liner to use. Short and to the point!

As soon as I saw the star glasses, I had a terrible feeling about the file.

The only thing this movie has going for it is that it makes Salvation look decent...

If they altered one or two things then Salvation would have been a decent enough film, I think that making it part of the Terminator series made things worse. Oh and the rubbish Arnie CGI near the end, totally unnecessary.

3 had far too much comedy. The actual story was pretty good but the way they got from start-middle-end just seemed wrong.

I got the feeling they wrote the action scenes first and then fitted everything else in between.

I liked the action sequences in 3, but the characters were terrible. Catherine Brewster was completely unnecessary and they turned John Conner into a sniveling pussy. The female terminator was crap compared to the t-1000 and those short-circuit johnny 5 things at the end were terrible.

The 4th one felt more like a transformers film for the most part.
