How did they get it so wrong! :(

Yes, T3 is awful, although Salvation really is an abomination, probably the biggest plot holes in a film I've ever seen.

T2 is really 'Cameron' if you watch it again though, quite a bit of comedy/cheese - more than I remember from when I first saw it.

Went to the cinema to watch both, thought T3 was awful as soon as I left the cinema.

Salvation though I rather enjoyed, its not great and not one of christian bale's better performances (sam worthington totally steals the film) but its a solid actioner that looked great on the big screen. Some of the scenes really suited the cinema, my memory is vague now but I remember bale was in a desert or something shooting a rocket at a enemy from a mile away, that scene and others were awesome.

The director's cut of T2 (i.e. not the one that's on ITV2 all the time) is absolutely spectacular.

You have just ruined your film critic-ness! :p

It's terrible, right from the enourmously cheesey dialogue between Kyle Reese and Sarah Conner to the enormously cheesy 'turning on Arnie's emotion chip'. The theatrical cut is much better.

See t2 does it right. A guy gets spiked right through the inner eye. The eye. And it pans the camera to show it. There is a realness and rawness about the violence. Its right there an integral part of the film and the struggle to die or live.

Its tense in parts with the odd comedic moment.

T3 is just weak in comparison it loses all the real blood and violence and instead adds baloney monents that qre not required. T2..'say...that's a nice bike'. That's enough. You know what that means. 'Speak to the hand' t3..that's abusing gay pop culture.not what we want I'm a serious terminator movie.

Yep, it is insulting to the previous two terminator movies. It's like T3 is a parody of T2.

When I first saw the trailers for T3 I thought it looked promising, but when it finally came out (as a huuge T2 fan) it was a big letdown.

Terminator is Cameron's baby. I don't think anyone else can do it the same way.

I really dont get all the hate for Salvation. I think its a great film. Yeah there are plot holes but are there loads in any film with time travel/future/past etc. T2 is my fav but that still had plot holes you could drive a bus through. But anyway i dont know if the DVD/BR release has a different/better cg arnie at the end but i thought they did an excellent job with it.

The only thing I really liked about 3 was the end and maybe the bit where Catherine shoots the Terminator in the head. The chase with the crane was pretty good too, on the big screen at least. "I'll drive."

Damn. Just remembered this:

Oh dear.

Not seen that scene before.

And 'don't do that' Hehe

I was also thinking the bust car scene that makes it look like its the bloomin Munster family in the top cropped car. They already did that car chase scene much better in t2...

Umm, been caught up in bed the last couple of days with the thou shall not move flu, so i caught up with T3 the same.

The first being cult iconic, the second is one of the most epic scaled films of all time, the third being a decent romp with a few good bits, aka the crane.

Enjoyed the 4th myself, but lets be honest, (the internet age) a universe with so many holes, the film was allways destined to get shredded anyhow.

It'll be more of the same if they do another.

That is the most atrocious thing I've seen in the Terminator world. It doesn't surprise me that T3 was such a massive flop and virtually killed the franchise when that video, for me, shows the lack of care from both the director and Arnie toward the Terminator's history.

There was one thing I did enjoy about T3, and that was the end when they were trapped in the mountain while everyone was dying around them

Like where the black guy is dying and holding onto the bomb and then t1000 gets into the helicopter and the pilot just jumps out?

Not sure what the issue is there? If a terrifying morphy bloke smashed his way through the window and told you to get out you'd probably do the same. :p The helicopter wasn't that high off the ground and it's clear what the alternative was, so you'd probably take your chances.
