Just wondered how those that are married (or not) proposed to their wives or fiance's?

I'm going to pop the question soon, but thinking of a nice way :)

My wife actually proposed to me at a university nightclub and I accused her of being drunk, so she waited till dinnertime the day after and asked again, I gratefully accepted. :D

I took my fiance to Egypt for our "summer" holiday or so she thought, booked a lovely 5* hotel in Sharm El Sheik, on the 1st night we got all dressed up, i said id booked a nice restraunt, took her out to one of the hammocks near the beach as the sun was going down and palm trees blowing and i popped the question, she started crying and burst into laughter when all of a sudden she noticed somone filming, turns out (i knew about this she didnt) that i had invited our families aswell. Was absolutly amazing (perhaps i spent a bit to much) but it was the best day of my life(so far, as we are not yet married) This all happened 1 year ago from yesterday. i love the video even though i looked a bit fat(coz i was bigger then) but hey ho.

At just after midnight on New Years Eve opposite the Sydney Harbour bridge just after the fireworks had gone off! Cant say i'm not much of a romantic! Mucho brownie points for that one!!
 
Told her she could have a chocolate if she married me..... she said yes :)

I proposed to my (soon to be ex-)wife at the top of the Eiffel Tower on her 21st birthday. Took her up, we were enjoying the view, I was behind her giving her a cuddle then brought the ring (in an opened box) round in front of her eyes and simply said "Would you do me the honour?". She cried and three Spanish schoolgirls who happened to be standing by cried too. It was great.
Pity she walked out 11 years later for no discernible reason though.

The Mrs. was looking through a jewellery catalogue and said "I like that engagement ring."

I was busy watching the football, only listening with half an ear, so replied "Buy it then."

She did.
 
I took mine to new York last December.

Took her to perry street were carrie's steps are in sex and the city, her favourite tv show. Apparently carrie got asked by 'big' there also.

Don't no what any of that means but she cried and said yes.

It was a hell of a long walk from our hotel on times square :p

Later that day I got food poisoning and was puking for 2 days after!
 
One knee on the brink of midnight 2000. This was after she told me earlier that day not to do anything stupid like propose.. I think the ring persuaded her that I was being serious..
 
Get parents to introduce you to girl, engaged for marriage 2 weeks later.

My Brother has done it twice now, the first time they canceled the wedding cos the girl wasnt a virgin.

Easy as that. He will soon have everything he has ever wanted, a wife to cook his dinner and clean his windows.

it was our aniversary and we were going out for a meal in london, i hid her engagement ring, so she was panicing in the bedroom trying to look for it. When she came into the sitting room i was down on one knee.
 
Champagne picnic breakfast, down on one knee, £2 fake ring from Argos (it was quite 'real'-looking and she actually thought it was the real ring and seemed quite happy with it until I told her!) then swept her off to choose a real one :)
