How did your username come about?

Second mirc handle, I think I had a bio sticker on a case and when looking around the room for inspiration decided on that. That was around 13 or 14 years ago. I really only use this name here. **** name anyway but it has stuck.

Funnily enough somebody first used it years ago as an insult changing my real name of dmpoole to Dimple and after I spacked out I thought 'Hey that's clever'.
I wrote at least 5 emails asking for a change of username but it only happened last year in another thread.

In the early days on internet gaming, I called my KornKiller... you know.. because it sounded dangerous lol. (Was playing "Descent" at the time, but was in other games as well: Doom etc))

I think I happened on someone else with it, so I changed it to Cougar. Not surprisingly, that wasn't unique enough. A friend happened to use the name Speedy.... but he stopped playing games, and as mentioned.. the name wasn't unique enough, so I robbed him of his username, and stuck it onto mine, because generally speaking I was very quick at the time. So.. Speedycougar came about.

That name lasted into TFC, where I think I held the 3rd place for points/score for TFC on the clanbase for a while. Then at some point I decided that Speedycougar, either resulted in me being called Speedy or Cougar, and it sounded a little childish... so I simply shortened it to Scougar. I have been using the various names for over 16 years now.

There you go... a long boring tale, with no mediation involved.

Although my alternate which I started actually describes me pretty well. MajorFaff.

And I thought "SpeedyCougar" was down to your love of fast, easy, older women!

Guess it's just happy coincidence then! :)

I change mine quite regularly. Used Highguard for a while, mostly in an MMO I was playing. Got bored of it, thought it sounded a bit childish and people shortened it to "High". The old voice chat joke of "Hi High" got old quite quick. Then they started shortening it to "H", so it seemed time to move on before people thought I was in STEPS!

GoogalyMoogaly, along with another one I use a fair amount, are quotes from a TV show that was quoting/referencing something else. But I just liked it and find it (or the other one) tends to be free quite a lot of the time.

When my little brother was young he couldn't pronounced my name right. Instead of 'Robert' he'd say 'Rozzy' and it just stuck. I didn't like my previous user names so used it.

I'm even worse at drawing than I remember.
