How do I change the voltage?

Afaik you can up the 3d clocks independantly from the 2d so you wouldnt have a problem there, but if you going to up the voltage then its 'across the board'. Mabye concorde can confirm this

Well I need to push the volts otherwise i won't be getting much from the gpu. If not at load I assume that even a overclocked gpu won't heat up too much.

With the core being at 680Mhz ati tools after awhile automatically takes it down to 475Mhz even though i dont have high temperature at all. It happens when I open a 3d application. Any ideas?
I have disabled all the relevant services such as: ati hotkey roller and ati smart .

Thats the 3D issues with drivers changing clocks.

YOu have to alt-tab out of games and reset the clocks. There is no known fix atm.

If this annoys you, use the Overdrive 3 overclocking in ATi Tray tools 1.2.6.940 with I2C DISABLED when you install it.

What about the voltage though? can ati tray tools change the volts?

Or use ATI tool, it has voltage controls for the core & memory. Just stay away from the artifact scanner however.

ati tools doesnt work properly as it gets affected by something and it doesnt keep the changes I make

Right, I think its time I explain the situation.

ATi in the X1k series cards has 2D/3D switching through the ATi services. When its disabled there is no clock control when entering/exitiing 3D.

This enables manual overclocking programs to work, like ATi Tray Tools and ATi Tool. However ATi have done something silly which is when a some games and some videos are started it forces itself back to 2D or to "video" clocks. This is the current problem.

One way around this is to alt-tab out and reset clocks and you have it running at full.

Or we cn use ATi Tray Tools Overdrive option with the services running to give us core + mem + core voltage overclocks, downside of this is no mem voltage adjustment and mem loosening.

Ray Adams the creator of ATi Tray Tools is working on a way to use ATis 3D switching so we don't have the video/game start problem with a way to have mem adjustment done by ATT do we have all the memory voltage adjustments.

Hang about 2 weeks and it will hopefully be sorted.
