How do I check panel alignment on my projector?

I have a Sony VW300ES projector. There is a setting called panel alignment which I can alter if I want... Am not to sure what I should be looking for though to see if mine is working fine.... isnt it colours on the lines or something?

you can only adjust Red and Blue colours, you can either align the entire panel all at once for either red or blue or zone by zone for red and/or blue, you have to see up close if all the colours are overlapping each other or you will see separate colours and the image will look hazy ish.
