Ok this is what i have and what i need...

I have my pc in the study connected to the adsl modem via a usb cable. This is how i access the internet at the moment.

My sister has a old dell pc in her room which she wants to go on the internet with.

Also, in the future i may build a under the tv pc which may require broaband access to.

So my question is, 1) what do i need hardware wise for the above 2) all the wireless stuff seems to vary in price a lot. Obviously i want the internet to run nice with no hickups but i want do be able to set the network up on the cheap rather than spend hundred's of pounds. So what kit do you all recommend?

For two pc's get a crossover network cable, however if you plan to expand further then invest in a router (I have a linksys and it's all good) and network/wireless cards.

Okay you can simply buy two wireless cards to communicate between the two systems, later if you require more links then invest in a router.

Can i not get a wireless broaband router, connect my pc to it via a cross over cable and buy a wireless card for my sis? Would that work?

It wouldn't be a crossover cable, just a standard network cable. Yeah you can just connect yours up and let her acces via wireless, that's what I'm doing at the moment.

Me and my next door neighbour sometimes like to play games on a lan (quicker than net). How would i do this then, just get him to buy a wireless card to but not allow him access to my internet connection?
