Sorry for the crosspost in HTML GRAPHICS forum but I desperately need an answer.

The original booklet was done in Publisher but I've looked all over to see how those blue & green lines might have been drawn within it.

Any ideas even if I have to do it in Photoshop or another programme? -

You can do it easily in photoshop - create a new layer, click the brush tool, and then draw away. Then, to get the shadow, go to where it says Fx on the bottom of the layers palette, and select 'Drop Shadow'. This will create a configurable drop shadow for you.

If you want differently shaped lines, you can change the type of brush by clicking on the little arrow, by 'Brush' on the top menu bar.
 
I've answered in your other thread but,

I would go with illustrator. Draw a path with the pen tool, apply the crayon brush to the path, colour it, and voila.. done!
 
I reckon (since it's been mentioned) that the original was done in Illustrator.
I will try all your methods though.

If I drag & drop into Photoshop, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, Corel Draw etc the PNG does as it should with a transparency behind it.
In Illustrator it has a black background!

First pic is the PNG in PaintNet which shows the transparent background.
Second pic is in Publisher with two rectangles behind it showing it acting like a PNG
Third pic is not playing ball in Illustrator

Save the png file to your desktop then drag it into illustrator, it will keep the transparency.

Not sure what you want to do with it, but if you live trace it, the transparency will become white again, to remove it click expand near where live paint was then use the direct selection tool to select the white background and delete the shape.

Didn't work, it still has a black background.
Personally I couldn't see why saving it to the Desktop made any difference over saving it to another directory but I still tried it.

I want the PNG to act like it does in every other package but in Illustrator it has a black background.

Sorry, wasn't very clear, desktop was the first thing that came to mind.
Post the PNG and i will try open it in illustrator, i just opened a few and they were fine.
 
I copy and pasted your .PNG into Photoshop, removed the white background area, and saved it as a 24-bit .PNG using the Save For Web dialog. Dragged it into Illustrator, and hey presto, nice solid shape and no black stuff :)
 
Glad you got it sorted, i just tried to open the file and got the same thing, re-saved it in photoshop and it opened fine in illustrator, are you using CS3?
