How do I find out the registered address of a vehicle "dumped" outside my house?

Had a similar thing outside my house...

The Police told us to call the council, they then contact the owner of the car who is given 7 days to move it otherwise it is removed.

This is all provided the car is parked somewhere causing a nuisance, and not illegally. In this case it was opposite someones driveway.

Needless to say the owner moved it 3 days later.

Will give the owner till Monday, then I will make some calls to see if the Police/ Council can contact him/ her.

Interesting point. If a disabled bay has been painted around it, is it now illegal whereas it wasn't before it was parked?

As the lines aren't painted under the car it's still legal.

Just visit the local cop shop, say it's been there a month and hasn't turned a wheel. Suggest it might of been stolen

Yep, if not moved by Monday I'll visit the local Constabulary and suggest it might be stolen and dumped. At least they might contact the owner.
