how do i flash bios

its a gigabyte board
i have put the bios on a usb stick when i enter bios and q flash the usb doesnt show up how can i flash bios

The flash drive must be formatted as FAT32 or it won't be seen.

i can do that its called q flash i have no floppy drive thought i tried to put on a usb stick it doesnt show up in q flash

it is formatted in fat32

Yes but is the USB flash drive formatted as NTFS? It needs to be FAT32 or the Flash utility won't see it. This was the case with the Asus utility and I would imagine Gigabyte are the same.

just checked it again its fat 32 just with the bios file on it

It should see it then if it's formatted as FAT32. Have you tried another USB port and/or another flash drive?

When you go into Qflash you have the option to determine where the application looks for the bios file. You need to navigate across to the left and once you do that you will scroll down till you find your bios file.

in q flash i have the following options

keep dmi data - enable or disable
load cmos default - enable or disable
update bios from drive (when i go there just comes up floppy a)
save bios to drive

cant access usb

had the same problem, eventually had to use gigbytes '@flash' utility. dunno how safe it is to flash the bios this way but i've used it 3 times now with no problems.

Update bios for drive - correct. Now go to the floppy drive and scroll down using the arrow keys your USB drive will be there.

thanks guys it was a dodgy usb stick bought new 1 and perfect now
