How do I get BT to tell me exactly why I can't have BT Infinity?

I would very much like to know exactly why I cannot have BT Infinity.

All around me can have BT Infinity; I cannot. When I look it up online it just gives a range of possible reasons; when I phone BT their helpdesk just repeats what it says online. I saw them updating the cabinet across the street 3 months ago.

I've been to https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/adsl.htm and that says I am served by Denburn Exchange (in Aberdeen) with no mention of a cabinet.

To whom within BT do I speak?

So if it doesn't mention a cabinet how far away are you from the exchange? What speeds do you get now?

I'm not sure how far I am - perhaps half a mile by road. How far that is as the cable runs is another matter. Downstream speed is ~8 MBps; upstream speed (which is really why I want Infinity) is < 1 MBps.

[email protected] - This email address replaces the old nga.enquiries address.

Give them your landline number and postcode when you ask.

Thanks. I'll do that.

Can be multiple reasons.
I've known properties listed as not FTTC compatible due to outdated records in BT of what faceplate you have.....

I've had a response from BT. I can't get fibre because I'm served directly from the exchange.

Oh well, at least I have an answer.
