How do I get C&C 1 to work on Win7 with Dosbox?

I've downloaded the GDI disc of C&C (it's free). How do I get this to install with Dosbox? I've got the DBGL front end if that helps.

Did you try run the exe in compatibility mode ? right click properties.

C&C1 DOS version and Win95 version were released seperately. The Windows 95 version was released in 1997 after Red Alert (which was released in 1996 and included both DOS and Win95 versions on the same disc) and was called C&C Gold. That's the version that's been released for free.

You'll have to search for the original DOS version elsewhere.
