How do I get permission to tramfer and delete files ?

I am having a bit of a nightmare here and this is really starting to do my head in !!

I am trying to transfer certain files from one folder to another - mainly to the programme files folder and I keep getting a message saying that i do not have permission.

I am the administrator of this computer and am the only user.

How do I get permission so that this message will not come back when I want to transfer or even delete a certain file.

running Vista Ultimate
 
right click on file then properties/security/advanced/owner. change the owner to your login. You might then have to go into edit and give yourself 'full control'
