Hi all, i have a 360 plugged into my dell 2407. Looks great, works great. I use the official vga cable and via an adaptor that came with my 2.1 speakers, i'm able to plug the 3.5mm male jack from my speakers into the vga cable. However, this means taking the 3.5mm speaker jack out of my sound card, and obviously having to replace it when i want to use the pc again properly.
Now, i bought an adaptor with one female and two male 3.5mm connections, thinking i would plug the speaker jack into the female and then plug the male ones into a) the 360 and b) my x-fi. However, when i do this, the sound is extremely crackly. (Is it possible i got a duff adaptor cable?).
What am i missing here? It's a pain having to climb up on my desk and fiddle around with the cables all the time. Any help gratefully received.
