How do i identify our BT number?

Hi,

Just a quick one, me and some mates just moved into a house, we plugged the phone in and got a dial tone e.t.c

I remember there used to be a number (a BT diagnostic number), where it would tell you verbally over the phone the number of the line (computer voice), as well as other things such as calculated line lengths.

Can anyone remember this number?

If there is a dial tone then you could try ringing your mobile and the number would show on screen unless there is some prior number withhold product on the line?

174 will give you the number your line has; 17070 is a more multi-tool diagnostic dealie iirc

There is a dial tone, but you cant make or recieve calls from it.
