How do I make UT2004 play a sound when I've hit an opponent?

Hi,

I've downloaded a few UT2004 videos showing the skills of top players around the world. In some of the videos, a sort of beep sound is heard when the opponent is hit by a bullet or whatever ammo it is.

How can I add this feature to single player mode?

Yeah that'll be UTComp. It's a mutator so it has to be running on the server. If you wanted hitsounds to work on any random server then you'd be out of luck. Client-side only mods aren't possible (or at least not in a way that wouldn't be considered cheating). You can use it in instant action no problem so I'm guessing that's what you want. You wouldn't be able to use it in the single player campaign though.

Might be Quake you're thinking of? I always get the weird noise when you hit someone in that.

I was about to say that. I love that sound - i think every fps should rip it from Quake :D

I like the way its deeper the more damage you do, gives you a fair idea of how much health they might have... also nothing beats the sound of tracking someone perfectly with the lightning gun :p
