How do I memtest 4Gb of RAM?

I never liked Memtest (the one everyone means).

This is better (even the free version but runs in Windows).

Just do as it says, it may tell you to Open 2 instance of it (on 4GB) and set to a certain size.

If you want to boot to the above and run outside Windows you need pay for it.

Hello Mr Paul, put one memory module in and then run memtest. Then do this for each of the other 3 memory modulus.

Well memtest reports the full 4Gb of memory and passes nicely

May be, but if it's what the shops use to test RMA'ed memory, then it's wise to use it.

I simply dont like it (had better results with other APP looking for errors) and how many shops know what they are doing anyhow ?.

I simply inputed above and he did not seem to take it onboard, his loss.

If you possibly tried it yourself, you would see.

I've tried that other program Helmut linked too...Works alright.

It just gets bad when you have too much ram installed...as you need a million instances to test all the ram.

I had 32gig to test, and yeah...Can't really run that many instances at a time without it getting a bit too hectic

Memtest works for me, tends to find most issues...Infact it's found a dodgey stick of ram in this server at work today.

You need 2 instances for 4GB, sure he will update it as 4GB becomes norm.

Actually that memtest programme will only test upto 1024Mb. SO I have to run at least 4.

Well issue must be your end, I have 4GB and 2 instances is all I need, delete all its files and redownload and run it only once 4GB is fitted, not 2GB going to 4GB

Or better still, just run whatever you want, I franky dont care either way.
