Hi,

Recently bought a new car few weeks ago and it has this silly sticker on the boot:

I've just tried peeling it with my nail however it leaves behind the outline, as you can see in the picture.

What's the best way to go about removing it?

It's three years old, I'm surprised neither of the two previous owners bothered to remove it. It's ugly and not even discreet!

Thanks in advance
lighter fluid or a can of lynx dont use petrol or thinnrers

I've done a lot of de stickering as most vans that get traded have the crap all over them.
People are right that say use a hair dryer but there is a knack to it, If you try to peal the sticker off at the wrong temp or from certain angles it will leave a gluey residue, If you heat it well & throughout the panel & sticker then it will come off & leave a small dis colouration which can be T cut out & polished back up. :)
how did you stop you finder from blistering, I destickerd a polo van, got three sides done them gave up

how did you stop you finger from blistering, I destickered a polo van, got three sides done them gave up

I have Mans hands mate. :D

It's just a juggling act between hands & what fingers you use. ;)

For getting rid of a sticker on my old VTR I used a hairdryer and a variety of chemicals. Order I used them in was purely in the order I found them. Started with nail varnish remover, then sticky stuff remover, then meths, then white spirit, and then petrol.

Got every bit of the glue residue off and did the paint no harm at all :).

I took the stripes off my ST and used Auto Glym Tar Remover which worked like a charm. Just hope that it all comes off in one piece.
