how do i run 2 monitors on one pc?

each with different desktops or what ever i just bought a cheap tft and would like to run it with my crt is this possible as i noticed people do it

you need to have 2 ouptuts on your graphics card. Which you should have if its anything current. Then you run one of the vga port, and one of the dvi port (possibly with a dvi to vga adaptor)

Then its just a simple matter of clicking a box in the display settings window to extend the desktop on to the second drive.

geforce 6800gt with 2 dvi ports i only have 1 adapter would need another...

amd64 3500+
gig ram

Easily run two displays/ desktops. if you have one of each, crt and tft you only need the converter for the crt.

Not always true, a lot of TFTs use the normal VGA output especially cheaper/older models
