could you please advis me on how to set up my router so i always get the same ip, is thier an easy way to do it?

any help is much apreciated.

turn off dhcp for your lan settings on the router. or it should work if you set up a static ip and settings on the pc.

Which IP address do you mean ?
The IP address you get from your ISP or the IP address of your PC? They are different.

You could setup a static address on the router via your pc's MAC address.

This would be easier in the long term because if you ever need to connect a new pc to the network you won't have to worry about the ip of it.

To find out your mac address go to:

Start > Run > cmd

Then in that window type "ipconfig /all" and its the hardware address.

Should look something like xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Then go in to your router and set the ip address to that mac address :)

if you mean ip from isp you will need to contact them and prob pay. Otherwise try something like dyndns.org
