Hi, (first post in this particular forum), my Panasonic FZ5 has a feature called auto-bracket which takes a pic 3 times in succession, each at different exposures. What do I do with this feature? Anything special? My manual is anotha city, thought I'd ask? :) Thanks

used to create HDR (High Dynamic Range) images which give correct exposures for the whole image (as opposed to blown out sky and underexposed foreground)

cykey has a useful guide

Or it's just used to get 3 exposures for the same image incase you failed to get a decent exposure from the setup you had :)

I don't bother the with exposure auto bracket function.

I've found that a decent HDR image can be produced from a single RAW image. It's also possible to produce JPEG files at various exposure settings from a RAW file.

HDR? O Rly? I could use HDR in my CAD work but I was assuming that was done using a stanless steel sphere and taking photos at about 10 different exposures. I got HDRshop on my comp, I'll give it a shot and try lighting something in 3dsmax. Cheers.
